New Creative Adventure at Summer Camp Portland

The addition of Stop Motion Animation gives campers another exciting way to express themselves. Instead of only watching animated movies, children can create their own animations! During the week, they will learn how professional animators develop stories, design characters, build miniature sets, capture movements, and create their own films.

If your child loves sketching, sculpting with clay, playing with LEGO, or creating imaginative stories, this class is the perfect choice for them.

How Campers Create Their Own Animated Film

Our  Stop Motion Animation class teaches the complete filmmaking process in a simple and enjoyable way. Kids begin by creating storyboards to organize their ideas before building characters and miniature sets using clay, LEGO, paper, and other creative materials.

Once their designs are ready, campers capture photos of their creations one frame at a time and learn how small movements bring their stories to life. They then add sound effects, edit their films, and present their final projects during a class screening. At the end of the week, each child takes home a movie they created themselves.
