This year, we had many young Artists from Art World School submit their works to the Seattle International Children’s Friendship Festival’s (ICFF) Art Showcase. Many of our artist’s families may be familiar with the various state, national and international art contests that we assist our students in participating in. In the past few years, we have also added the ICFF to our list of potential competition avenues.
The Seattle International Children’s Friendship Festival is a yearly event held in Seattle in which children of all ages from around the Pacific Northwest are invited to create, attend, and explore each other’s cultures. As part of this, more than 600 pieces of art were submitted for an Art Showcase, each one representing the artist’s vision of the future. Out of those 600 submissions, we’re delighted to announce that Archer Li and Chloe Lin both received honorable mentions!

Chloe Lin submitted a deeply personal acrylic painting, depicting what she hopes to see from her own future- A variety of art, a beautiful Sunset, and admission to Yale. The bright colors and fine details really make the piece pop, and it’s no surprise that it received an honorable mention.
Archer Li’s submission, which was done with Alcohol Marker on Marker Paper, depicts a smoke-choked landscape filled with garbage and over-industrialization. He depicts himself exiting a time machine into this future, and expresses in his submission Essay that he hopes to see a future in which this result is avoided. Personal in a different way, this is another piece that well earns its honorable mention status.

Both students worked tirelessly and thought long and hard about their submissions, and we’re glad that their efforts paid off. A congratulations again to Archer Li and Chloe Lin, and we hope to see you submit next year as well!
