This is the first year that Art World School Students participated in the 15th Annual Seattle International Children’s Festival. Almost 20 Art World School student works were displayed at this art show on the weekend of April 20-21 this year. Viewers vote on their favorite works from the art show and winners are just announced. Three Art World School Students were awarded with Honorable Mention and excited that their works were loved by the audience.
The winning entries were completed with sketching pencils, colored pencils, and oil pastels. The three students and all other participating Art World School students worked hard on their entries in Art World School’s Fine Art Program and After School Program classes. They started with sketching out their ideas and thoughtful compositions in their sketch book first, then executing it on a final paper and completing it with the medium of their choice. The training they receiving from attending group and one-on-one classes at Art World School helped them successfully execute their ideas with attention to details. They also showed the techniques with using the different mediums, understanding of color theory, and other concepts of fine art through their artwork. Their entries not only express themselves as artists, but their own personalities and sense of creativity inspired from the theme of this year showcase – “My Favorite Place”.
