Summer is a great time for kids to explore creativity, learn new skills, and enjoy fun activities outside the usual school routine. Joining an Art Summer Camp Portland is a wonderful way for students to spend their summer in a creative and inspiring environment. Instead of spending long hours on screens, kids can draw, paint, build sculptures, and try many different art activities.
Our camp focuses on helping students develop artistic skills while also encouraging imagination and personal expression. Each day is filled with hands-on projects that make learning both exciting and meaningful.
A Class-Based Art Summer Camp
Our class-based summer camp offers a structured but flexible experience for students. We provide half-day and full-day packages, and these packages can be used on any days during the camp. This allows families to choose a schedule that works best for them.
All of our classes are led by teachers who are professional artists. Each class follows a preplanned curriculum where we guide students through a project step by step. The goal of every project is to teach important art skills and concepts while allowing students to express their creativity.
We also provide individual feedback and direction to every student. This helps students improve their techniques and feel confident about their work. Our teachers encourage creativity while also helping students understand the technical side of art.
To make sure every student receives attention, our classes have a maximum of 15 students. Each class includes a teacher and a teaching assistant. This small class size helps us create a supportive and comfortable learning environment.
Classes Available Every Day
Our camp offers a variety of classes every day. Students can explore different types of art and discover what they enjoy the most.
Fine Art – Drawing and Painting
Drawing and painting are important parts of learning art. In our fine art classes, students practice drawing techniques, shading, color mixing, and composition.
We guide students through step-by-step projects using materials such as pencils, watercolor, and acrylic paint. These classes help students build strong art foundations while also allowing them to create unique artwork.
Clay – Hand Building and Pottery
Working with clay is a fun and creative experience. In our clay classes, students learn hand-building techniques and basic pottery skills.
They create different objects such as small sculptures, bowls, or decorative pieces. These projects help students understand shape, texture, and structure while enjoying hands-on creativity.
Arts and Crafts and 3D Art
Our arts and crafts classes focus on creative building and design. Students work on projects that may include architecture, sculpture, and mixed media art.
We use different materials such as cardboard, paint, recycled items, and craft supplies. These projects help students think creatively and develop problem-solving skills.
Yoga for Relaxation and Focus
We also include yoga sessions in our camp activities. Yoga helps students relax, stretch, and stay focused during the day.
These short sessions help students recharge between creative projects and maintain a calm and positive mindset.
Stop Motion Animation
Stop motion animation is one of the most exciting classes at our camp. In this class, students use objects, photography, and digital tools like an iPad to create a stop motion video.
Students learn how to move objects frame by frame, take photos, and edit them into a short animation. This class combines art, storytelling, and technology in a fun way.
STEM Art Projects
Our STEM classes combine art with math, science, and engineering concepts. These projects help students explore how creativity and science can work together.
For example, students might build structures, design patterns, or create art that involves balance and movement. These activities make learning both creative and educational.
Calligraphy and Lettering
In our calligraphy classes, students learn the art of beautiful writing. We teach lettering techniques using calligraphy pens and fountain pens.
Students practice different styles and create projects that combine lettering with art. These may include decorative quotes, cards, or creative posters.
Studio Art for Personal Projects
Our studio art class gives students the freedom to choose their own projects. They can work on drawing, painting, or digital art.
Teachers provide individual instruction based on each student’s interests and skill level. This allows students to focus on the type of art they enjoy the most.
A Creative and Supportive Environment
One of the most special parts of our camp is the creative environment we build for students. We encourage students to explore ideas, experiment with materials, and express themselves freely through art. Working with other young artists also helps students feel inspired and motivated.
They learn from each other while developing their own artistic style. Our teachers support students at every step, making sure they feel confident and proud of the work they create.
Turning Summer into an Art Adventure
Art camps are more than just fun activities. They help students build confidence, develop new skills, and discover their creative abilities. With classes in drawing, clay, animation, calligraphy, and more, our camp offers many opportunities for artistic exploration. Small class sizes, professional artist teachers, and engaging projects make every day exciting and meaningful.
By joining our Art Summer Camp Portland at Art World School, students can turn summer into a creative journey filled with learning, imagination, and artistic growth.
