Our Digital Art classes act as both a leaping-off point for students into the world of Digital Art and a way to build on the fundamentals of art in the digital medium.
What We Teach
Weekly SkillsAll digital art classes will have drawing involved and teach students figure drawing, character design, creating different color effects, and different genres of illustration.
Procreate topics include
- Layers, selection, and transforms
- Different masks and blending modes
- Making gradients and color alterations
- Using different brushes and settings

Teachers
Sean • TonyaThe teachers for the classes are Sean and Tonya, who are both professional illustrators with their works published in various media.
The teachers will teach a different topic and focus every week, so students can come to one class per week or all three for more practice on that week’s topics.
What to Bring
DevicesStudents bring an Apple Pencil and an iPad with Procreate downloaded on it.

The school provides iPads for student use, but we have a limited number available. Please check ahead of time if your student needs to use one.

Small Groups- 60 minutes to learn, practice, and create every week
- Maximum of 15 students to ensure quality instruction
- Each class teaches a different project that teaches different digital drawing skills, tools, and techniques.
- Same price as other 90-minute group fine art classes
- Use the same class credits from 90-minute group class packages

| October 2026 | Customizing your Experience – Adding Gesture Controls, Importing/Making New Brushes, etc |
| November 2026 | Workflow Efficiency – Learning ways to speed up your workflow through combination of previously learned skills, such as selecting an area then using clipping masks to eliminate the need to worry about going outside the lines |
| December 2026 | Value Studying – Using Digital Art to easily set up and work on Value Studies |
| January 2027 | Perspective – Learn how to set up Perspective Grids in Procreate, as well as how perspective works in real life |
| February 2027 | Collecting Good Reference – (Optionally using VizRef) The importance of using reference in your art |
| March 2027 | Unusual Workflows - Start with a combination of filters, colors, and altered images on your piece to give yourself a new way to work. |
