Animation Classes
If you or your child have been interested in what it takes to become an animator—or just want to experience what it takes to make animated movies and TV shows—our Animation Classes are a great jumping-off point.
What You’ll Learn
Beginner FriendlyWe have classes for both young and old, currently limited to Beginner level classes—but we intend to add Intermediate and Advanced classes in the future.
Students will learn the basics of animation and how to use the features inside Procreate Dreams to begin creating animated projects.
Requirements
Students must be 7 or older
Bring an iPad + Apple Pencil
Have Procreate Dreams installed

Monthly Curriculum

| August 2026 | Intro to Flipbooks and basic frame-by-frame animation (frame rates, holding frames, etc) |
| September 2026 | Intro to Procreate Dreams – More detailed dive on the UI, functions, and capabilities of Procreate Dreams |
| October 2026 | Principles of Animation 1-3: Squash and Stretch, Anticipation, and Staging |
| November 2026 | Principles of Animation 4-6: Straight Ahead Action + Pose to Pose, Follow Through + Overlapping Action, Slow in + Slow Out |
| December 2026 | Principles of Animation 7-9: Arc, Secondary Action, and Timing |
| January 2027 | Principles of Animation 10-12: Exaggeration, Solid Drawing, and Appeal |
| February 2027 | Students create their own extended animation with figure drawing theme/their own character design |
| March 2027 | Students create their own extended animation with fantasy theme |
| April 2027 | Students create their own extended animation with animal theme |
| May 2027 | Students create their own extended animation with travel theme |
| June 2027 | Students create their own extended animation with a travel theme |
